AliExpress dog bone insert (034 Motorsport copy)

I've had it with wheel hopping. It's time to get rid of it. This is a very straightforward mod, shove some metal into the bushing to fill out the space and make it more stiff, not much else.

I got this 034 motorsport clone on AliExpress for a fraction of the price at $9 AUD. Ideally I would have liked the polyurethane design since those ones fill up the space on both the bottom and top puck. This one only fills out the bottom puck... and not fully either.

It's important to note that the puck bolt is a torque to yield one time use only bolt, however, 034 Motorsports did mention in the manual that if you are to re-use it, to use blue loctite, so that is exactly what I did.

I should also mention that there isn't that much space around the bolt head, so, my 21mm impact socket did not fit and I needed regular ones.

There's actually still a whole heap of space for the bushing to move... so I am not really sure that this did all that much.

Driving Impressions

Starting up the car I could hardly notice any difference. At low speeds (i.e. parking speeds), I could notice slightly more NVH, but once up to speed, it's not very noticeable. I didn't really find that this increased torque response either, however, it did seem like there was less wheel hopping now.

Was it worth it?

For only $10 and such an easy install, and almost no additional NVH, I would say it is worth it. I will be moving up to a Whiteline polyuretheane insert that pads out both the top and bottom puck next. I've heard that one increases a lot more NVH but is also a lot more effective at locking everything down.
