Volm Motorsport (Aliexpress) Turbo Inlet Elbow and Silicone Intake Hose for Golf R MK7

The Racingline R600 intake does not come with a turbo elbow nor the silicone pipe that connects it to the intake. Most aftermarket brands do sell these, but at the cost of $300 for just the elbow and another $200 for the silicone hose. Despite those high prices, they look almost exactly the same as these generic branded ones I can find on AliExpress for 1/5th of the price. Those brands would try to convince you these are poor quality, but is that really the case? Honestly, I am fairly certain those brands get their parts from the same factory as these generic brands...
In either case, I installed this. I will edit this post with 1 month and longer updates regarding its longevity.
The Install
was easy enough! The turbo elbow simply comes out after undoing one bolt and rotating it 45 degrees. The silicone hose simply fits over the intake and elbow. Not much to write home about here.
But is it better?
I honestly do not have any hard figures for how much better it is, however, just by looking at the size of the original and the new, it's hard to believe there wouldn't be any benefits.

Fitment Issues?
One thing I noticed is the silicone hose rubs on the engine.

I am not really certain if this is an install error on my part and I am also not certain how this would affect performance or durability in the long term. I could imagine it's probably not a great idea to have a silicone hose touching an engine component so only time will tell how long this holds.
It is worth noting that the silicone hose appears to be of the same dimensions as the original plastic one, meaning, the oiriginal plastic hose most likely rubbed also.
Any difference?
For now at least, driving it around, the biggest difference I have noticed is much louder intake sounds. Some people have reported their cars feeling more lively and the turbo spooling faster but I honestly did not really notice that.
Here are some videos... you be the judge:
